NATIONAL DEBT
The debt of this nation continues to rise, exceeding the total annual value of goods and services produced and enslaving this nation to its debtors.
This nation is supposed to be one nation under God, not under debtors. The Bible says:
- Proverbs 22:7: The rich rule over the poor, and the borrower is slave to the lender.
- Matthew 6:24: No one can serve two masters; Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.
- Luke 14:28: Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Won’t you first sit down and estimate the cost to see if you have enough money to complete it?
Our views about national debt need to be faithful to these truths.
